Behind a game-high 16 points and seven blocks from senior center Derrick Parker, the Yazoo County Panthers were able to hold off the Crystal Springs Tigers for a 51-49 victory, their second of the season.
The Panthers outscored Crystal Springs 13-12 in the first quarter and after both squads scored 15 second quarter points, Yazoo County led 28-27 at the half.
The two teams would each score eight in the third frame and Yazoo County won the free throw battle down the stretch to pull out a 15-14 quarter and the win.
Bray Jones followed Parker in double figures with 10 points.
Other scorers were Tymon Banks with seven, Zi Demus with five, and Jaylon Shaffer, Rod Knight and Graelan Shaffer each with four.
