The Manchester Academy Mavericks bounced back from last week’s loss in resounding fashion against Delta Streets, taking a 40-12 road victory to improve to 1-1.
MA dominated the game from the start to finish, racing out of the gates to a 34-0 halftime lead. Both teams scored six apiece in the third quarter, and Delta Streets added another six in the fourth quarter.
Manchester totaled 284 yards of total offense on the night (209 rushing; 75 passing) while holding Delta Streets to just 64 total yards.
Jake White rushed for 99 yards on nine carries with one TD to lead the Maverick offense.
Tobias McGee followed with 81 yards on 13 carries, and Ethan White had 38 yards on five carries.
McGee completed 3-of-4 passes for 36 yards and a touchdown, and Brendan Thrasher was 1-for-2 with 39 yards.
Will Ketchum was the leading receiver with two receptions for 67 yards, White’s lone reception was for a six yard TD, and Jack Miller had one catch for two yards.
Garner Burton was the top tackler for MA with nine total tackles and a sack. Ty Walton had six tackles, four for loss, and Sam Bunch and Bodie Martin each had four tackles.
