Lady Mavericks look to the future after another successful season

The Lady Mavericks of Manchester Academy finished their basketball season with a record of 26-8, which according to Coach Emily Poe, is the most successful record to date.

Leading the way on the court this season for the Lady Mavericks was Lanie Potter, who averaged 18.42 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks per game.

The Manchester Academy Lady Mavericks wrapped up another successful basketball season this weekend after playing three games and placing 4th in the MAIS Class AA State Tournament held at Sylva Bay.

Led by Coach Emily Poe, the Manchester girls finished their season with an overall season record of 26-8.

Manchester soccer season ends in overtime

The Manchester Academy boys soccer team ended their season on Feb. 17 after falling 4-3 in second overtime during a tough matchup against Delta Streets Academy.

Head Coach Byron Kelly said that the Mavericks were leading the game 3-1 until some penalties were called on the Manchester boys in the second half.
