The Yazoo City Indians traveled to Brandon High School and faced the host team in the Brandon Holiday Christmas Tournament. Despite playing a close first half, the Indians struggled in the third quarter and eventually succumbed to the Bulldogs in a 70-55 loss.
The loss drops the Indians to 11-6 on the year.
The Indians led 13-10 after the first period of play and after a 15-19 second quarter, they trailed by one, 29-28, at halftime. Unfortunately for the Indians, Brandon came out in the third quarter and limited the Indians to single digits, outscoring them 19-8 to take a 48-36 lead into the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs would outscore the Indians 22-19 in the final frame to secure the win.
Leading the way for the Indians was Travis Jones with 19 points and Keiron Davis with 10. Jacorion Taylor added eight, Jahiem Sims had six, Chris Gates and Jamerrio Effinnger had five apiece, and E'ziren Collum and Rickal Session rounded out the scoring with one apiece.
