Senior quarterback Arion Warren stepped up and took the lead to deliver Benton Academy a hard fought 20-18 win Friday at Hillcrest Christian.
Warren completed 8-of-14 passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns.
"He did a great job of keeping offense moving the ball and leading us to a win,” said Raiders head coach Kenny Burton.
J.B. Middleton caught both touchdown passes from Warren as the sophomore continued to shine at wide receiver.
Caden Stevens also scored a touchdown in the winning effort.
The victory gave the Raiders their third win of the season, and it was a win that didn’t come easy.
"I though the kids played well, they kept fighting the whole time,” Burton said. “We got behind, kind of came back from behind, kept playing, a big drive about 65-70 yards drive down to score.
Rye Yeates led the Raiders defense with 12 tackles.
Will Vaughan had seven tackles, and Caden Stevens had six.
“They played great defense at the end,” Burton said. “I thought defense did an outstanding job.”
Benton is off this week, and will return to action against Park Place Christian Academy at home on Oct. 25.
