Open House a great start to holiday shopping season in Yazoo

Local businesses depend on strong support during the holiday season, and Yazoo City’s Holiday Open House was a great start.

Shoppers flocked to Yazoo Sunday afternoon for the annual open house, and it was good to see our local businesses reaping the benefits of all the hard work required to put on a first class event. We thank Kiristi Mills, director of the Yazoo County Chamber of Commerce, the Yazoo Convention & Visitors Bureau, and everyone else who had a hand in making this a successful event for our community.

Yazoo’s locally-owned businesses have built a reputation for offering a unique shopping experience backed by quality customer service.

You can go to just about any town in any state and stand in line at big box retailers and get the same gifts everyone else is getting.

Yazoo offers an alternative.

In our local businesses you find unique gifts from people who are genuinely glad to see you and eager to help you find what you’re looking for.

Many shoppers got to experience that Sunday, and some of those folks were experiencing it for the first time. All of the positive feedback we heard Sunday strongly suggests that they will be back.

That’s great news for our local businesses, and it’s great news for our community as a whole because all of those sales tax dollars will be spent for services that benefit Yazooans.

Please continue to support our local businesses as you do your holiday shopping, and encourage others to do the same.
