William Harlow "Bill" Brister Jr.
William Harlow “Bill” Brister, Jr., 74, passed away at his residence in Houston, Texas, Tuesday, May 15, 2018.
He was born September 15, 1943, to William Harlow “Billy” Brister and Mary Edwards Brister of Yazoo City, Mississippi. He was raised in Trinity Episcopal Church in Yazoo City. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
William graduated from Yazoo City High School and attended Hinds Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi. He was an electronics engineer and chief engineer at several radio and television stations throughout the South and mid-West. He always had a delightful sense of humor, and had life-long interests in music, art, theatre, science, history, genealogy, and more. Above all, he cherished his many friends and he himself was a friend for life.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sisters, Mary Brister Downey and Martha Brister Williams, his brother John Patrick Brister (Marylyn), his nephew John Bowman Salomon (Susan), his niece Mary Ann Downey Kirby (Michael) and great-nephew Parker Douglas Kirby.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association.
