Mrs. Leola Dillard was born on Feb. 6, 1912 in Bentonia to the union of Xavia and Roxie Runnels. She met and married Swayze Dillard Sr., who preceded her in death. They enjoyed 60 years of marital bliss and were blessed with nine children. Many lives have been enriched because of her impact and influence. She is known as the cheerful giver. We mourn her passing: an angel on earth has returned to heaven.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been felt by our nation, our family and each of us individually. Due to this pandemic, which is totally uncontrollably plaguing our country, state, city and homes, we are saddened to announce that (our Mother) Mrs. Leola Dillard's funeral will be closed to the public. Only immediate family will be allowed to attend. Please honor this request.
Only the immediate family will attend the funeral services. But all who wish may attend the visitation services at Scott Funeral Home on Friday, March 27, 2020, between the hours of 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Rest assured, our entire Dillard family and the entire Yazoo City community will be invited to celebrate the life and legacy of Mrs. Leola Dillard in a spring memorial next year. Prayfully, the COVID-19 pandemic will have abated by that time.
