Judy Chapman was born September 12, 1958 in Douglas, Ga. to John and Mary Wilkinson and went to her reward on July 8, 2020. She was a pastor, school administrator, and teacher at Jesus Church Light of the World for over twenty years.
On July 7,1977 she married the love of her life Sammy Chapman, Sr and they became the parents of three children: Sammy, William, and Felicia. They later became the grandparents of twelve grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers: Earl Wilkinson and W J Wilkinson, and two sisters: Kate Rogers and Vanessa Mott.
She leaves the following loved ones behind:
Three children: Sammy (Tina) Chapman Jr. of Yazoo City, MS, William Chapman of Benton, MS, and Felicia Edge of Picayune, MS
Four brothers: Ray (Jean) Wilkinson of Quitman, MS Bervon (Kaye) Wilkinson of Douglas, GA, Malon Wilkinson of Nicholls, GA, and Johnny (Nell) Wilkinson of Laurel, MS
Two sisters: Alice Williamson of Walls, MS and Ruby Wilkinson of Madison, MS
Twelve grandchildren: Jasmine, Sammy III, Landon, Marrissa, Johnny, Drew, Jake, Jason, Rayln, Kylee, Dylan, and Tristan
A host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services will be Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Church of God of Prophecy on Graball Freerun Road in Yazoo City, MS. Visitation will be 12:30 – 2 with services following. Burial will be at Central Holmes Cemetery.
Pastor Matt Clark will officiate. Obituary to be read by Marcus Rusche. Special music by Wanda Clark, Felecia Edge, and Sherry Hern.
Pallbearers will be: Darrell Hern, Chris Henson, Harold Dees, Noah Henson, Deshaun Crozier, and Jamie Leal.
