Jonathan Bruce Burns, 31, of Yazoo City, left his earthly home on May 5, 2022, at the residence of his loving parents, Sheila and Bubba Carter. He was an employee of the Mississippi Department of Transportation in Yazoo City.
Jonathan, affectionately known as “Rambo,” was born on December 11, 1990 in Jackson.
Survivors include his loving mother, Sheila; his devoted daddy, Bubba Carter, of Yazoo City; his father, Tommy Burns (Connie) of Yazoo City; his maternal grandparents, Billy and Robbie Bruce, of Yazoo City; his paternal grandmother, Barbara Burns of Benton; his sister, Jennifer Rainey (Brandon)of Kosciusko; three nephews, Nathan and Josh Jenkins, and Alex Rainey of Kosciusko; three loving aunts, Brenda Ketchum of Yazoo City, Cathy Bruce, and Lisa Mertz; a very special cousin, Noelle of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; one uncle, Willard Dale Ketchum of Yazoo City; and one great uncle, Leroy Gary of Yazoo City; along with his best friend for life, Chris Fleming. Other survivors, include many friends and other relatives.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Johnnie L. Burns, Jr. of Benton; John W. (Tootsie) and Joyce Carter of Yazoo City; great grandmother, Hattie Box of Yazoo City; and a precious unborn daughter, Ashton Faith of Madison.
We can all gain comfort in knowing that he will no longer be in pain and we will see him again. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022, at Fletchers Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Brother Steven Howell conducting the services.
