James Grady Davis Jr., 85, of Madison, formerly of Benton, passed away Friday, May 22, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Yazoo City.
James Grady was born March 6, 1935, in Yazoo County, to James Grady Davis, Sr. and Katie Waller Davis. He worked as a field service engineer and steam turbine specialist for MeadWestvaco Corporation. He was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include his wife Patricia Pittman Davis of Madison, daughter Jamie Carr (Steve) of Benton, granddaughters Haley Carr of Benton and Katie Bridgforth (Holder) of Clinton, MS. He is also survived by siblings Billy Joe Davis (Joyce) of Madison, Clayton Davis of Yazoo City, Dorothy “Dot” Davis Malone (Dan) of Waco, TX, Carole Davis Domino of Midnight, MS, Gail Davis Hamilton (Kenneth) of Leakesville, MS, and sister-in-law Peggy Luby Davis of Coxburg, MS, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his youngest brother Wendell “Bubba” Davis, sister-in-law Joyce Buxton Davis, and brother-in-law Frances Domino.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions no formal services were held. A small visitation was held at the family home for close friends and relatives.
