Hazel Veroncie “Cookie” Smith Chapin, 79, of Yazoo County passed away at her residence Friday June 1, 2018.
Funeral services are Friday, June 8 at 11 a.m. at Parkview Church of God with Rev. Ken Lynch officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at Parkview Friday. Burial will be at Liverpool Cemetery in Yazoo County under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mrs. Chapin was retired as a Registered Nurse for Oasis Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of Parkview Church of God.
Cookie was preceded in death by her parents George and Hazel Logan Smith.
Survivors include her daughters, Jeanni L. “Angel” Cantrell McGraw (Kent) and Hazel Charlene McCloskey (John); son, William Anderson (Trish); grandchildren, Randy Banks, Cal Anderson, Logan Anderson, Nathan McCloskey, Owen McCloskey and Desarae' Cantrell; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe Lee Smith and Julius W. “Dee Dee” Smith; and a sister, Linda Smith Kuhn, all of Yazoo City.
Serving as pallbearers are Billy Eldridge, Travis Caston, Bill Regan, Chuck Ashley, Patrick Spiars and Van Foster.
