Yazoo Job Fair set for Tuesday, May 8

A diverse group of employers actively looking for employees will be in Yazoo City next week with the annual Yazoo County Job Fair.

The local job fair, with the Governor’s Job Fair Network of Mississippi, will be held on Tuesday, May 8, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the National Guard Armory on Gordon Avenue in Yazoo City. There is no admission fee.

“As governor, it is my duty to ensure that our state is doing all it can to create an environment that produces secure employment opportunities for Mississippians,” said Gov. Phil Bryant. “The Governor’s Job Fair Network was created as an avenue to place Mississippi’s most attractive resource - our people - in front of business and industry. By facilitating connections between job seekers and employers who have real positions to fill, this self-sustaining program helps Mississippians invest in their futures."

The fair is sponsored by the Office of the Governor, the Mississippi Development Authority and the Mississippi Department of Employment Security and the Mississippi Development Authority.

Many job seekers receive job offers on the day of the job fair, while others are required to complete additional screening for current and future position vacancies.
