Deputies arrested a suspect in the armed robbery case at a Benton store last week, and investigators continue to look for more suspects.
Jordan Perry, 23, was charged with armed robbery and remained in jail as of press time.
Terry Gann, chief investigator with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said the Dollar General on Highway 16 in Benton was robbed around 9 p.m. last Wednesday.
“Three men came inside the store and robbed it at gunpoint,” Gann said. “There was also a getaway driver outside.”
Gann said Perry was arrested within a couple of hours after the robbery thanks to assistance from witnesses.
“We were able to use the description of the car used in the robbery given to us by witnesses,” Gann said. “We tracked the car down, taking it and Perry into our custody.”
Gann said the investigation continues for others involved.
