Two days after the tragic car accident involving two Benton Academy students, the driver Mallory Williams died in a Jackson hospital.
News of a deadly car crash last Wednesday continues to affect the tight-knit Benton community. Local pastors and counselors have remained at the local academy to help students get through this extremely difficult time.
Passenger Lezlie Whitehead, 15, was killed in the crash at the intersection of Miss. Highway 16 and Old Highway 16 on Nov. 11.
Williams, who was airlifted to the University Medical Center in Jackson, died last Friday.
A sophomore student at Benton Academy, Williams was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Williams and Whitehead are remembered as best friends, who did everything together.
Manchester Academy will host a memorial service today, Nov. 18, at 10 a.m.
