Yazooans are invited to join together to pray for our community on Thursday during a ceremony honoring the National Day of Prayer.
A group of local ministers will lead a service on the steps of the Yazoo County Courthouse Thursday at noon. The Yazoo Ministerial Association is calling for at least 500 people of faith to attend the event.
Rev. Ken Lynch, pastor of Parkview Church of God, said he believes it is especially important for this community to come together in prayer following recent acts of violence that have occurred.
“Long ago, David wrote this psalm: “Pray for peace of Jerusalem.” (Psalm 122:6). He understood that prayer and peace go hand in hand. We can pray for the peace of our city, our county, our state and our nation. But we must be intentional about it,” Lynch said.
