National Day of Pray to be observed Thursday in YazooBy THE YAZOO HERALD,
The Yazoo Ministerial Association will once again sponsor the annual observance of the National Day of Prayer. This year's observance is set for Thursday, May 3, and will begin at 12:00 noon on the steps of the Yazoo County Courthouse.
The theme of the 2018 observance, the 67th Annual National Observance, is "Pray For America - Unity". The theme verse is from Ephesians 4:3: "Making every effort to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace."
Dr. Ronnie Floyd, Honorary Chairman of the National Day of Prayer Task Force, states. "There is no great movement of God that has ever occurred that does not begin with extraordinary prayer of God's people." On May 3 millions of Americans will gather to humble themselves before the Lord to mobilize prayer throughout the land to encourage personal repentance and righteousness in the culture.
Local National Day of Prayer planning is under the direction of Rev. Ken Lynch, Pastor of Parkview Church of God, on behalf of the Yazoo City Ministerial Association, the sponsoring group. Other ministers and lay leaders from throughout the city will be leading prayers and participating on the program that day. The public is invited and urged to attend the May 3 prayer gathering.
