Do you ever hear supposedly smart people use the phrase “our democracy?” If it’s “fake news” reporters, they may go further and say, “Trump has ruined our Democracy.” Others may say, “Our Democracy is under attack.” Still others may say, “The right is filled with Nazi’s who want to ruin or Democracy. Or better yet, “Our Democracy is under attack.”
To use these types of criticisms is to highlight the failure of our educational system. Had one of these left wing reporters attended a ninth grade civics class, they would know that we do not “live in a Democracy.”
We have never lived in a Democracy. The United States is a Republic which means that we elect people to represent us in Congress or at the State House or at the County Seat.
We do not have the authority to vote on bills that come before Congress, for example. Our representatives must cast the vote. Representatives are supposed to represent the will of the people who elected them. At least that is what the ninth grade civics books said. We vote on who will represent us, and the person who gets the most votes gets the job.
But we have a problem that our founding fathers did not foresee. We are living in the age of the “professional politician.” Our founding fathers envisioned a government where common people would be elected to office, serve perhaps two terms, then return to their farm or business.
But as our Republic has matured, smart people have discovered that they can make a good living out of politics. Joe Biden is a great example. He was able to get elected to the Senate for over 40 years, then he was elevated to Vice-President by Barack Obama.
If he can serve 8 years as President, then he would have been in office for 55 years. But the evidence is stacking up rapidly that “Ole Joe” has used his office to make money. He has made his son, Hunter, a wealthy man. His brother has benefitted greatly from “Ole Joe’s” high government positions.
Late Sunday night, we were traveling back from Rome, Georgia, and we were trying to pick up the radio broadcast of the Super Bowl. We finally found a station broadcasting the game just as the first half ended. Much to my surprise, the half time entertainment was an interview with none other than Joe Biden.
First, why was Biden interviewed at all? Most fans wanted to enjoy the football game and not hear some politician drone on and on about how he wanted to help the American people. Joe wants to unify the American people and get us pulling in the same direction.
I have never heard a more patronizing rhetoric come for the lips of a professional politician. The test of a good, seasoned politician is to never be specific about anything. Joe passed that test with flying colors. He wants “good jobs” for the American people, yet he is moving at warp speed to implement the “Green New Deal.” Goodbye Keystone pipeline!
He claims to be normalizing relations with the other nations of the world to clean up the mess that Trump had made, yet he is bending over backwards to help China.
What happens if China attacks Taiwan? We have a treaty that says that if Taiwan is attacked, then the United States will defend the Island. But Joe is a weak man, so weak that treaties can be broken, especially if China is involved.
Ole Joe is a master at patronizing people. “ He treats the American people in a way that is apparently helpful and kind, but betrays a feeling of superiority.” Yes, Ole Joe and his left-wing coharts are smarter than we are, and he is so smart that he will put thousands of people out of work to “save the planet.”
According to the NFL, Ole Joe is walking on water. But time is an exacting thing. How much damage can Joe do before the American people say stop? Stop signs may have already begun to appear.
