Alice Hearn Green

Alice (Hearn) Green, 89, of Vancleave formerly of Yazoo City passed away at her home in Vancleave Sunday February 14, 2021. An Operator and Inspector at E & W Manufacturing Company for 26 and a half years.

Born February 10, 1932 to Nicholas Henderson and Mary Melissie (Scott) Hearn, Alice married James Vernon Green June 12,1951 and was a beloved mother birthing 2 boys, James Ray Green, and Randy Glen Green and later adopting her 2 grandsons, James Lamar Green and Richard Glen Green. Her family and faith meant everything to Alice and she instilled this in her 4 boys. To know Alice was to lover her immensely. She was a lifelong believer of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and a faithful helper to anyone in need.

Alice lived in Yazoo City, Mississippi a majority of her life and attended First Presbyterian Church before relocating to Vancleave, Mississippi to live with her son James, due to health concerns.

She is preceded in death by her husband; James Vernon Green, son; Randy Glen Green, brothers; George Henderson Hearn, James Edward Hearn, Jon Aubrey Hearn, and her sister; Annie Melissie (Hearn) Warren.

Survivors are, sons; James Ray Green, 67, of Winnsboro, TX, James Lamar Green, 48, of Vancleave, MS, Richard Glen Green, 47, of Meridian, MS, 18 grandchildren,18 great grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.

Graveside services under the direction of Stricklin King Funeral Home will be Monday February 22nd at 11:00 A.M. in Glenwood Cemetery with Dr Charlie Wingard the Senior Pastor of First Presbyterian Church officiating.

No visitation is scheduled.

In Lieu of Flowers please make donations to First Presbyterian Church of Yazoo City, MS.
