A bid was accepted by the Yazoo County Board of Supervisors this week on the construction of the new building for ambulance service near the District 3 Fire Station.
County leaders accepted the lowest bid from South Central Glass Company in the amount of $29,250 to construct the 4,500-square-foot building that will accommodate the county’s ambulance service provider, Pafford EMS.
The deteriorating condition of the current ambulance service building has been a topic of discussion at county meetings for years. The problem has now reached a level of urgency, however. A rat infestation and flooding issues has made life miserable for Pafford employees.
After construction of the new building, road manager Jim Warrington said the next phase would be wiring and indoor plumbing.
