Edward Levern Collins, 81, of Yazoo City went home to be with the Lord on June 2, 2021 at home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Ellen Collins, brothers Herbert Collins, Jr. and Henry Collins.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne Collins of 60 years, three children, Keith Collins (Tammy) of Yazoo City, MS. Heath Collins (Debbie) of Hattiesburg, MS and Valarie Collins Pickens (Richard) of Yazoo City,MS.
Four grandchildren, KaRaye Pickens Jordan (Lucas) of Benton, MS, Brennan Collins (Mallory) of Clarksdale, MS, Blake Collins (Krystal) of Hawaii and
Sydni Collins of Cleveland, MS.
One great- grandchild Asher Collins of Hawaii.
He was also survived by a sister Gail Shipp (Mac) of Eden, MS
Levern was a Godly man and a follower of Christ. His service to the Lord through prayers, missions and ministry to family and friends.
Missions were his passion and has gone to different countries doing the Lord's work, not counting all over the United States.
He had been employed as a Lease Operator for Pennzoil and as a Guard for Mississippi Chemical Corporation and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Friday, June 4th 5:00-7:00 at Stricklin King Funeral Home with services Saturday June 5th at 10:00 A.M. at the chapel of Stricklin King Funeral Home, Rev. Bryan Abel will officiate as well as Rev. Byron Pickering. Internment will follow in Center Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Don Corley, Roger Jones, Mike Williams, Joey Greco, Wiley Saxton, and Mike Davis.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are; Phil Dixon, Van Foster, Benton Hayman, Charles Long, Bill Meek, Dallas Powell, Louis Williams, Walker Williamson, and Sonny Stubblefield.
