James C. Farrish, 92 of Yazoo City passed away at Pear Orchard Hospice Ministries, Wednesday July 14, 2021. Visitation will be from 12:30-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 17 at Stricklin-King Home in Yazoo City, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m.
Mr. Jim was born January 2, 1929 to Fred and Essie Farrish and grew up in Greenwood, MS. He married the love of his life on December 24th, 1950. He was truly blessed to be with her for 69 years of marriage.
He served in the Air Force as a Staff Sergeant and was stationed in Antigo, Wisconsin. He began farming in 1952 and managed Twist and Peaster Farms. He and Mrs. Martha loved their family well and greatly enjoyed gardening and putting up corn every year. Their true happiness was always found in being with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He fully retired as Farm Manager at the age of 84 for the Peaster family and was a member of First Baptist Church of Yazoo City.
Survivors include his daughter, Cathy F. Ridings (Steve) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his son, Rev. James C Farrish, Jr. (Laurie) of Terry, MS.
He leaves behind 3 grandchildren: Mitzi Saint Sing (Brett) of Clinton, MS; Andrew S. Ridings (Valerie) of Des Moines, IA; Victoria Reeves (Jamie) of Clinton, MS; six great-grandchildren: Layni Saint Sing, Keaton Reeves, Embree Reeves, Tyler Saint Sing, Emslie Ridings, Isabelle Ridings; his sister, Jo Ann Prewitt; one niece, nephews and great nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Martha Farrish; daughter, Lynn Farrish and brother, Robert Farrish.
Serving as pallbearers are; Brett Saint-Sing, Jamie Reeves, Keaton Reeves. Mark McKenzie, Clarence Nelson, and Taz Ketchum.
