Sarastelle Sigrest was honored by the Yazoo Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution for her 50 years as a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution at the Christmas brunch December 13, 2018.
The Yazoo Chapter dedicated their 2018 scrapbook to Sigrest. The dedication included pictures of the many ways she served her community and country the last 50 years.
Sigrest was very interested in seeing that Yazoo area high schools’ JROTC Programs were recognized by Yazoo Chapter with the DAR JROTC Award every year as well as the DAR Good Citizens Award. The following are some of the many offices and chairmanships she has held: National Vice Chair NSDAR Museum Correspondent Docents, member of the Continental Congress Memorial Committee and member of the Continental Congress Banquet Committee, MSSDAR State Area Representative DAR Speakers Staff, State Chair Museum and DAR Speakers Staff. Yazoo Chapter offices and chairmanships held were: Regent, Vice Regent, Treasurer, Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Librarian and National Defense Chair. She was also Yazoo Chapter’s Rosalie Rose.
