Mr. and Mrs. Michael Crawford exchange vows
Mr. and Mrs. James Keith Crousillac are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Anna Amey Crousillac to Michael Aaron Crawford, son of Mr. and Mrs. Julian Wallace Crawford III.
The wedding and reception took place at Nottoway Plantation in White Castle, Louisiana on Saturday, January 20, 2018. The 5:30 PM wedding was officiated by Reverend Michael Joseph Bordelon, a close friend.
Escorted by her father, the bride was presented by her parents. The bride wore a Monique Lhuillier long sleeve floral lattice a-line beaded gown that featured an illusion high neckline and a sweetheart bodice finished with a cathedral length veil. Her bouquet consisted of peonies, ranunculus and white roses, and the stems were wrapped with two vintage handkerchiefs.
In 1950 Caroline V. Sudler gave the late Anna Bechtold Bass, the bride's great-grandmother, one of the handkerchiefs from Italy in hopes that one day her daughter, Marna Bass Shortess, would carry it on her wedding day, which she did in 1958. Also, carrying the handkerchief were the bride's mother, Amey Shortess Crousillac in 1983 and her aunt, Paula Floersch Shortess in 1991. The other was given to the bride's mother on her wedding day by Juanita Holden McGregor. A sixpence dated 1958, the bride's grandparents wedding year, was placed in her bouquet.
The bride is the granddaughter of Judge and Mrs. Melvin A. Shortess, Nina Shows Crousillac and the late Donald James Crousillac. The groom is the grandson of Betty Crawford, the late Julian Wallace Crawford, Jr., Rose Renfroe and the late James Aaron Renfroe.
The bride was attended by her matron of honor, Lauren Guillory Bordelon, maid of honor, Brittany Kinman and bridesmaids Lindsey Tassin Brown, Allison Hood, Suzanna Hyland, Leslie Kennedy and Abby Shortess. They carried bouquets of ranunculus and white roses, and wore black, crinkle chiffon a-line dresses by Watters. The groom was attended by his best man, Alex Crawford and groomsmen Si Burnham, Taylor Crousillac, Tyler Johnson, Chad Langdon, Bryan Lynch and Hanson Walker. Chipper Cary, Caleb Smith and Walker Wright all served as ushers. Serving in the house party were Kimi Crawford, Juanita McGregor, Dian Riley and Wesley Shortess.
On the eve of the wedding, Mr. and Mrs. Crawford hosted a dinner in the White Ballroom at Nottoway Plantation.
The couple will reside in Brandon, Mississippi following their honeymoon in the wine country of Napa, California.
