Garden club learns to use plants to remove toxins

The Four Seasons Garden Club held its November meeting at the Ricks Memorial Library Annex. Jeanne Santmyer, President, presided over the meeting. Linda Cader, Secretary-Treasurer, gave her reports.  Ava Anderson, Vice President, introduced the speaker, Flora Vance, from Oakland. Flora spoke on how house plants help take the toxins out of the air in our homes. These following plants are some that help make the air in our homes safer to breathe: Peace lily, Boston Fern, Areca Palm, Dracaena, Philodendron, Rubber Plant and Ficus Ali. She also discussed what causes these toxins from the way our houses are built to the products we bring in to our homes. Four Seasons Garden Club is a member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc., Deep South Garden Clubs, Inc., Garden Clubs of MS, Inc. and River Road District Garden Clubs.
