Four Seasons Garden Club learns about daffodils

The Four Seasons Garden Club held its February 6, 2019 meeting in the Ricks Memorial Library Annex. 

LeAnne White Mitchell from Wolf Lake Cut Flower Farm spoke on “Daffodils.” She told how and when to order bulbs and demonstrated how to plant bulbs in pots as well as other planting ideas. She presented each member with a potted daffodil bulb.

Treasurer/Secretary Linda Cader gave her financial report and read three thank-you notes for donations given by the club.

President Jeanne Santmyer informed the members that the club had received the National Garden Clubs’ Plant America Grant. The money will be used to landscape the front of Ricks Memorial Library. She thanked Priscilla Harper for writing the grant and appointed Nancy Williams as Project Chairman for this Library landscape.

The chapter voted to send a donation to help fund the National Garden Clubs Convention to be held in Mississippi.

The Spring schedule for garden clubs was given: Wister Gardens Program and luncheon March 23,  2019,  Garden Clubs of MS, Inc. State Conference in Oxford, MS April 9-11, 2019 and the National Garden Clubs, Inc. Convention in Biloxi, MS April 30-May 2, 2019.

The hostesses were Tracy Fouche, Stephanie Clay and Linda Ketchum.

Four Seasons Garden Club is a member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc., MS Garden Clubs, Inc., Deep South Garden Clubs, Inc. and River Road District, Inc.
