Support the arts in Yazoo by joining the Yazoo Arts Council

Dear Friends of the arts,

On behalf of the Yazoo Arts Council, we would like to issue you an invitation to become a member.  The Yazoo Arts Council is a tax deductible 501c3, non-profit organization devoted to promotion the arts throughout Yazoo County by nurturing awareness through exposure, enjoyment, and involvement in visual and preforming arts.

Why join and why we need you?  When you join the Yazoo Arts Council you become more than just a member, you become a partner in enriching and presenting the arts here in Yazoo County.  Proceeds from the membership drive supplement our efforts to promote, expose and bring all mediums of art to Yazoo City and County.

In our initial start we have presented the following events:

• May, John Maxwell in “Oh, Mr. Faulkner, Do You Write?”

• May, Twain in Yazoo, The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County

• July, Free Printmaking Class with Benny Melton at the Triangle

• Sept, the Art of Scrapbooking with Alice Cobb at the Triangle

• Sept – Oct, Arts Education 2018 Sept, Culinary Arts by Angie Coghlan, “Chop Like A Pro”

• Sept, Fall Concert Series present The Yazoo County Jazz Band directed by Kimble Funchess at First Presbyterian Church

• Oct, Pumpkin Painting Class with Melissa Gooch at the Triangle

• Oct, Fall Concert Series performance by Viola Regan Dacus at First United Methodist Church

• Oct, Adult Costume Party and the Art of Storytelling: the Witch of Yazoo at the No Smoking Smokehouse

• Nov, Holiday Artist Showcase at the Triangle along with the Chimneyville Readers present “A Christmas Memory”

• Dec, Caroling and Tree Trimming at the Triangle

Your support enables the YAC to grow and implement more workshops, concerts, and theater to our area.

If you value the arts and would like to see them prosper, NOW is the time to become a partner in local art awareness.  Your contribution is tax deductible and greatly needed to sustain this organization.  We have done a lot on a shoestring budget, but we have many wonderful ideas and projects in the works but as you know without funding these programs and goals are not obtainable.  We work very hard to keep cost at a minimum and still bring to Yazoo events that are both informative and entertaining.  The Yazoo  Arts Council is being headed up by a group of volunteers that have a passion and dedication to keep the arts alive for our children to be exposed to and gain a love and passion of their own.

We need your help today !!  The Membership levels and benefits are attached.  Mail your commitment today and we promise you will be part of something magical !!

  Sincerely,

  Yazoo Arts Council Board
