The investigation continues into recent shootings and robberies within Yazoo City, with warrants being issued to help officers make arrests. But Police Chief Jay Winstead said his department needs the public’s cooperation when dealing with open cases.

Man charged with shooting at Yazoo City service station

A suspect was charged in the shooting of a Yazoo City man Wednesday morning at a local gas station. 

Calvin Williams, also of Yazoo City, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following the incident at the Shell gas station, located at the intersection of Fifteenth Street and Grand Avenue.

Police remove stolen guns, drugs from the streets

Stolen firearms and narcotics were removed off the streets of Yazoo City this week thanks to proactive measures from officers with patrolling and securing a presence in a high-volume call area. 
Three separate incidents resulted in two stolen firearms being recovered and three drug arrests by the Yazoo City Police Department.

Delta Wine & Spirits employees charged with embezzlement
