Yazoo County voters will return to the polls next week to determine the Mississippi Supreme Court Central District post in a runoff election.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26. Within the Central District, Supreme Court incumbent Jim Kitchens will face challenger Jenifer Branning. Locally, during the Nov. 5 general election, Branning won over Yazoo County voters with 3,641 votes compared to Kitchens’ 2,845 votes.
Statewide, Branning led with 41.7 percent of the votes (124,331), and Kitchens had 35.5 percent of the votes.
