Raiders off to a 1-1 start

After falling in the state championship series last season, The Benton Academy Raiders once again began their journey for an elusive state title with a season-opening 3-2 win over Simpson Academy on Thursday before falling 8-6 to the Cougars two days later.

Indians finish third in district tournament

The Yazoo City High Indians brought home a third place finish in the District 3-4A Tournament last week after falling to Gentry in the second round and rebounding against Cleveland High in the Consolation Game.
The number one seeded Gentry Rams started off hot, but the Indians kept pace. After one quarter, the Rams led 12-8.

Mavericks soccer season concludes

The Manchester Academy Boys’ soccer season came to a close on Wednesday when they fell 3-2 to Adams County Christian School in the first round of the playoffs.
The Mavericks struck first midway through the first half before Adams County responded five minutes later with a goal.

Raiders make dramatic comeback, fall at state
