Mavericks win district opener

Manchester Academy’s boys basketball team improved to 4-3 on the year and 1-0 in the district after trouncing St. Al 52-45 during the Thanksgiving break.

With a .500 record and an early chance to gain momentum in the conference, the Mavericks successfully put a notch in the win column.

Raiders win basketball opener

The Raiders of Benton Academy started the basketball season in style with a 59-30 win over Carroll Academy on November 19.

With only three practices under their belts due to a late-running football season, the Raiders seemingly didn’t miss a beat in the win.

Benton falls to WCCA

Benton Academy’s football season ended in an anticlimactic and controversial fashion on Friday night with their 21-20 defeat at the hands of Winona County Christian Academy.

The controversy occurred at the end of the game when WCCA, nursing a one point lead, was attempting to run out the clock.
