Yazoo County High’s baseball team took a big step forward in the conference standings with a sweep of Velma Jackson in a doubleheader on Tuesday to go to 4-1 in the conference.

The star of the game was Jamari Brown, who hit three home runs in two games.

Lady Panthers get revenge

A year after falling to Terry in the final inning of a softball game, Yazoo County finally had their revenge with 7-6 walk-off victory.

The Lady Panthers came out in the bottom of the first inning and took a 3-0 lead.

After a scoreless second inning, Terry finally got on the board with a run to cut the lead to 3-1.

Beckwith talks about NFL future during hometown visit

Hard work, resiliency and a little faith earned a walk-on from Benton Academy a coveted scholarship at Mississippi State University, and those same traits helped him earn All-SEC honors and lead the Bulldogs to the Orange Bowl.

In game number one of the tournament, the Indians were pitted against Provine, the home team.
