Yazoo County track team competed in the north state 3A track meet on Saturday April 29th. The girls placed fourteenth overall and the boys placed second overall. The results from the north half track meet are as follow:
Cambreia Lampkin finished fifth place in shot put.
Karime Coronado finished fifth place in triple jump.
The girls 4x800 meter relay team finished seventh. (Eliza Coronado, Kyana Greer, Ta'Kaya Morris, and Elizabeth Solano).
Kya Collins finished eighth in the 100 meter hurdles.
Elizabeth Solano finished seventh in the 3200 meter run.
Eliza Coronado finished eighth in the 1600 meter run.
Jesse Henderson placed fourth in high jump.
Leandrius Sampson won shot put.
Edward Haralson placed third in shot put.
Leandrius Sampson placed fifth in discus throw.
Edward Haralson won discus throw.
Jesse Henderson won triple jump.
4x800 meter relay team placed sixth place.(Owen Alexander, Jose Solano, Emad Sana, and Zack Landrum).
Jesse Henderson won 110 meter hurdles.
4x200 meter relay team placed sixth (Owen Alexander, Malik Hicks, Kory Gainwell, and Kenny Gainwell).
Zack Landrum placed sixth in the 1600 meter run.
4x100 meter relay placed fourth (Owen Alexander, Kory Gainwell, Tisimiyun Cox, and Kenny Gainwell).
Jesse Henderson won the 300 meter hurdles.
Emad Sana placed sixth in the 3200 meter run.
Kory Gainwell, Jessie White, Kenny Gainwell, Malik Hicks ,Edward Haralson, Jesse Henderson, Tisimiyun Cox, Owen Alexander and Leandrius Sampson have advanced to 3A State Championship on Friday May 5th at The Woody Barnett Track Complex in Pearl. The State meet will start at 10:00 A.M. with field events and running events will begin at 1:30 P.M.
