Yazoo County’s Panthers saw their season finally come to an end with a 73-65 loss in the playoffs to Holly Springs.
The Panthers were unable to capitalize on early success in the contest.
Phil Turner’s Panthers jumped out to a 26-16 lead in the game, but that was the high point for them in the contest. They were unable to match that offensive output in the later quarters.
In the second quarter, Holly Springs doubled Yazoo County’s scoring with a 16-8 effort to cut the lead to 34-32.
The third quarter was the tightest one of the game. The energy was high, and the points came.
By the time the buzzer rang out, the Hawks edged out the Panthers 19-16 to take a 51-50 lead into the fourth quarter.
The game was still up for grabs in the final quarter.
Unfortunately for the Panthers, they were unable to keep pace.
The Hawks outscored the Panthers 22-15 to take the game 73-65, ending the season for the Panthers.
