Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson invites everyone to attend the 61st annual Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo and announces the schedule of events taking place tomorrow, Monday, February 16, and Tuesday, February 17. All events take place on the Mississippi State Fairgrounds.
Open Livestock Shows featuring cattle will take place in Barns 14 on Monday. These shows are open to all ages with some competitors traveling to Mississippi to compete.
Rodeo fans can enjoy steer wrestling and tie down roping during the Dixie National Rodeo Slack on Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Coliseum. Rodeo Slack continues Tuesday during School Field Trip Day with barrel racing. These events are open to the public with no admission.
The annual School Field Trip Day at Dixie National will be held Tuesday, February 17. Over 3,000 children from schools around the state will be in attendance this year. These visiting students will be treated to a day of Rodeo Slack featuring elite barrel racers, Dusty the Rodeo Clown, rodeo queens and more.

In conjunction with the nationwide America250 celebrations, this year’s Dixie National will take on a special patriotic focus. Events of the 61st Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo run through Sunday, February 22, 2026. The Dixie National Rodeo, the largest rodeo east of the Mississippi River, runs through Saturday, February 21, inside the Mississippi Coliseum at the State Fairgrounds.
