Benton Academy picked the right time to get hot as the Raiders ended the regular season with a third straight win and captured the district title by defeating Deer Creek 12-2.
Dalton Robles drove in four runs on two hits to lead BA. Robles drove in two runs with a double in the first inning and blasted a two-run over over the center field wall in the fourth inning.
Senior Bryce Ables had another solid performance on the mound, striking out 11 batters on his way to earning the win. Ables also went 3-for-3 to lead the Raiders at the plate.
The Raiders took an early lead with Robles driving in two runs with a double before Brett Pierce added two more with a single.
Ethan Shanks added an RBI single in the third inning.
Tyler Odum had two hits and two RBI for the Raiders.
Waylen Dewitt, Peyton McGlawn and Riley Powell also had hits for the Raiders.
Two days earlier the Raiders defeated Central Holmes 6-1.
Robles struck out 15 batters to earn the win.
Shanks had an RBI single in the third inning to put the first run on the board.
Cullen McCain led the Raiders with two RBI.
Dewitt, Robles and Shanks each had a hit for BA.
