Police Chief Terry Gann said he was provided with incorrect information about the location of a deadly shooting last month month in Yazoo City.
It was reported to The Herald in a Sept. 11 article that an alcohol-fueled argument in a nightclub parking lot escalated to a shooting that left one man dead and a suspect behind bars last weekend.
However, Gann said the location was incorrectly reported to him, adding that the shooting occurred in the parking lot of a convenience store on Broadway, not a nightclub.
Yazoo County Coroner Ricky Shivers said Rothelio Sanders, 28, was pronounced dead on the scene from gunshot wounds by Pafford paramedics.
Zachery Carter was charged with murder.
