There has been much uproar recently about billboards advertising strip clubs with scantily clad women in Jackson.
The outrage is understandable. What kind of city would allow something that is offensive to many to be placed where people can’t help but see it? Jackson clearly needs to set some guidelines.
Apparently so does Yazoo City.
While driving down Canal Street, Yazooans can’t help but notice a sign advertising an upcoming “sex therapy relief party” at the Squeeze Inn Social Club. We’re not sure exactly what goes on at a sex therapy relief party, but we have no desire to have to answer questions from our children about what that sign means.
Common sense used to be enough when it came to this kind of situation. Unfortunately that’s no longer the case.
The city needs to set some rules.
