I know the title doesn’t sound very pastoral, but I’m sure the Pharisees didn’t take too kindly to Christ calling them a “brood of vipers.” Matthew 5:37 says, “Let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes’ and your ‘No’, ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.” – Quite frankly, these are not times for flowery words or soft phrases! From the Body of Christ to the everyday unregenerate man on the street, we must wake up and stand up. This nation has gone MADD!!! (Remember MADD magazine from childhood?)
COVID-19, BLACK LIVES MATTER, Defund Police, tearing down remembrances of our history (Confederate or otherwise) - history we should learn from so as not to repeat (not ignore and pretend never existed), athletes threatening to stop playing sports if we don’t bow to their wishes, the U S Supreme Court cowering to a transgender agenda and so much more absurdity fills our daily news. NEWS!? Journalism is no longer about reporting facts; it’s about who lines media pockets the best – that’s what creates “news” every day. Then again, as the famous pastor R. G. Lee preached it, “There’s Payday Someday.” Isaiah 5:20 says, “WOE to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!” - I’ll tell you what the pandemic is, friend - SIN! Outright rebellion against the natural order of life as God created and intended it – THAT, my friend is the pandemic sweeping this nation. God love him, poor ole President Donald Trump has the job of attempting to govern amid such madness - and with some pretty insane-acting, America-hating folks kickin’ him daily. Do lives of Black humans matter? ABSOLUTELY! Wake up! BLM is a FOR PROFIT organization promoting racism for MONEY!!! If you want to see who really thinks that black lives matter, look at your neighborhood. None of us want any of the foolishness being propagated in some of these larger cities! We all just want to live and get along – regardless of race. We certainly DO NOT need a business telling us we are “haters”, as they create opportunities of selfish monetary gain! Jesus said in Matthew 7:21, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven.” – Just ‘cause someone SAYS they “know you” and sympathize with your cause doesn’t mean they don’t have a sword in-hand ready to stab. DON’T TAKE THESE “HELPFUL” ORGANIZATIONS AT FACE VALUE, in other words! Like those who only know the name of Jesus but don’t know Him personally, these too may just be talking heads, using you as a stepping-stone. ASK ME! I’ll SHOW YOU that my next-door neighbors (black) and the worship leader at the church I pastor, also black, MATTER TO ME!!! Then again, my neighbors on the other side, an Hispanic family, matter too. Oh! In all honesty, I believe the Vietnamese family who owns the local donut shop in my community matter as well. . . Let’s cut all the crap and live according to the Word, which says, “For there is NO PARTIALITY with God.” Romans 2:11 - Hmmmm. . . Seems the Creator of all Humanity thinks that ALL lives matter, equally.
Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but happy is he who keeps the law.” – Yep! We ARE a nation with no restraint. . . Don’t like something, you have the right to print a sign and stand on the street expressing displeasure; but when you start stealing and destroying, it’s no longer lawful protest, it’s outright thievery. Lunatics wants to destroy a system of law and order over a bad cop. REALLY!!?? I’m glad they didn’t decide to destroy all pastors when the first wealthy televangelist millionaire turned out to be an adulterer years ago! Holy Cow! Regardless of the occupation, there will always be bad apples in every barrel, as the old saying goes. Speaking tongue-in-cheek, let me state simply, it will be a sad and interesting news story when a social worker is gunned down because he/she responds to a 911 call where an armed murderer is holding hostages at gunpoint, and they (the social workers) are the replacement for trained law enforcement personnel. What a ludicrous suggestion!
Ha! The Michigan Governor who applauded all of these vagrant’s destruction of her cities as “their right to protest” is now whining to the president that WE, the American taxpayer should send federal money (our paid-in taxes) to help rebuild what she allowed the reprobates to destroy. Romans 14:12 says, “So then, every man shall give an account OF HIMSELF unto God!” People MUST start being held accountable for their own actions. The “participation trophy” generation wants to wreak havoc, but then demand “safe places” because they cannot handle the emotional trauma of real life or consequences of their actions. - I could have blamed my alcoholic, adulterous, abandoning father and thrown my life to the wind as a child, and no one would have said anything but, “poor kid – he just had a hard upbringing, you couldn’t expect more.” WHERE AND WHEN are we going to DEMAND that people start standing accountable and being responsible for their own actions!? Dr. Ben Carson recently said it best, “America needs to stop being offended about everything and ‘grow up’.”
I’ve said it before, but how in the world could anyone with even a modicum of morality vote for ANY candidate associated with the Democratic party? HOLD ON! Let me stop you before you go there. The Democratic platform is clear. This party PROMOTES AND CELEBRATES the legalization of murdering infants, newborn and unborn. (Abortion) I personally don’t care what else their platform holds! God’s word is clear about MURDER! So, if a party promotes murder, politically correct or not, it’s morally abhorrent. I’m done. No politics to be decided. End of discussion. – As for COVID-19, I’d sooner trust a tarot card reader on the street in New Orleans than I would trust the word of the CDC or some of these “advisors” peddling their agenda for money, under the covering of a real disease – and you won’t see me associating with a tarot card reader, by the way. This is a form of witchcraft!
Let me wrap up as I began. The world has gone MADD (no reference to the M.A.D.D. organization), yet, times are going to become more perilous. Unless we address the ROOT of this insanity, man’s rebellion (the created-being kicking against its Creator’s natural order), sin, we have only just begun to see madness.
