With 49 dead and 53 seriously wounded, the United States has now entered a new phase in the “war on terrorism.”
Omar Mir Seddique Mateen has seen to that. We still do not know all of the ramifications of this terrorist act, but we do know that the Democrats and President Obama will try to make this a “gun control issue.”
Your rights as a citizen to “keep and bear arms” will be restricted whether it is lawful for this administration to do so or not.
The terrorist attack in Orlando was just that - a terrorist attack. It could have been carried out with a gallon of gasoline, a pipe bomb, or any number of other ways. The fact that the terrorist used a gun is only relevant because Obama and the left are making it an issue to direct the attention away from themselves. This attack occurred on Obama’s watch, and it is clear that “politically correct” instructions from the White House hampered the FBI in its investigation of Mateen.
Mateen’s father is from Afghanistan, and believe it or not, he supports the Taliban. How did he immigrate to this country with beliefs like that? Although his son, the terrorist, was born in New York 29 years ago, he no doubt was reared on a steady diet of hate for the United States and a belief in Sharia Law. According to one Muslim cleric, “Homosexuals should be killed out of compassion.” Apparently, Omar Mateen learned his lesson well.
Senator Jeff Sessions, one of the truly bright lights in an otherwise dim Senate, thinks that there will be more terrorists attacks in the United States this year. If you are a regular reader of this column, you will remember that I predicted that these attacks will occur during the summer and fall because the Radical Islamic terrorist want to disrupt the presidential election.
For reasons I do not understand, Democrats are all in favor of bringing in large numbers of refugees from Syria and other Middle Eastern countries despite the fact that few of these people undergo in-depth background checks. The terrorist have already indicated that they will come into this country through immigration. Over 100 individuals with terrorist leanings have been detained at the Mexican border, but how many have slipped through? We have no idea.
Obama is allowing over 100 Syrian refugees to enter this country each day. None of them thus far are Christian, and again, we have no idea who they are or what their motives are once they settle in this country.
Americans are beginning to become frightened as they should. There is a clear and present danger that our political leaders must face. It takes only one terrorist to kill a lot of Americans. Out of the 100 Syrians coming to this country each day, if only 1 has a terror strike on his or her mind, then we are in deep trouble.
Already ISIS has published a “ hit list” of the names of Americans targeted for assassination. The list includes the names of 1,445 people in California, 643 in Florida, 333 in Texas, 331 in Illinois, and 290 in New York. We must take these threats seriously, but we cannot play the game the Democrats and Obama are playing.
When will they realize that guns are not the problem? Radical islamic terrorism is!.
