Just as the New York Times and USA Today are the worst newspapers in the known universe, Glenn Beck may be the most despicable talk show host in America. Beck hosts a radio show from 8-11 a.m. each week day morning.
When he first began on radio, I thought that he might have a chance to do some really great things, but lately, he has devolved into something that I cannot recognize. He claims to be a conservative and a "constitutionalist," yet his reasoning for saying what he is saying reminds me of an alcoholic in search of a coherent thought.
Even though Ted Cruz was crushed by Donald Trump in the Republican Primaries, he just cannot seem to give it up and realize that Trump had the nomination long before the convention was gaveled to order. For some strange reason, Beck refused to endorse Trump over Hillary, and his reasoning for this stance is incoherent.
If you watched the Convention last Wednesday night, you saw Ted Cruz commit political suicide right in front of your eyes. He is so bitter that he could not outwit Donald Trump and win the nomination that he could not bring himself to say these simple words: "I support fully the nominee of our party." When you cannot bring yourself to realize that you are not going to be the candidate for president you hoped to be, then there is a mental problem. No wonder Trump pointed out that Cruz had no friends in Washington. He can color his political career gone, and even his one-time supporters will give him the cold shoulder.
But back to Beck. For some reason, he fancies himself as a preacher. He wants everyone to think that he is the most moral and Christian person in America. I certainly don’t know what is in Beck’s heart, but he is Jewish. Now, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, but it sounds strange when Beck begins to quote the New Testament and go on and on about religious matters that seem out of character for someone with his religious background.
When people tell you how religious they are and how much love they have in their hearts, it pays to be skeptical. In my judgment, may exemplify the type of "establishment Republican" who has learned the fine art of losing. Paul Ryan, the Speaker of the House, and Mitch McConnell fall into these categorizes. Both are establishment losers with no clear plan to win anything. Both have been slapped around by Barack Obama like government mules.
The Republican Party has a candidate in Donald Trump. Many of the allegations made against him by Beck and the Republican establishment are false. But you know that the Trump campaign is scoring some important points when the New York Times, Glenn Beck, Eric Erickson, USA Today, and other propaganda rags slam Trump for articulating a message that registers with the American people.
How despicable is the main stream press? I don’t think we have seen the depths they will sink to defame Trump and his wife, Melania, who, by the way, gave a great speech to the convention.
As an observer of politics and as someone who cares about the future of our country, I cannot imagine supporting "Crooked Hillary" over Donald Trump. I care too much about this great country and my grandchildren to even entertain this irrational thought. Glenn Beck needs to wake up - fast.
