There is a stage that young children go through that I call the “why stage.” Every declarative sentence seems to be followed by a “why.” For example, one of my grandkids seemed to have “why” locked on his brain.
If I said that I needed to go to the grocery store, he responded with a “why.” Why does a motor make noise? Why do jet engines hurt my ears? Why do we drink milk? Why does the sun come up in the east? Well, you get the point. Young people are curious and they really do want to know why something happens. Inquisitive minds want to know.
I would like to know who the genius was who walked into Nancy Pelosi’s office and told her that it would be a wonderful idea to tear up Donald Trump’s State of the Union Speech. Was this unknown person a Republican? A Democrat? A well-respected member of the “deep state?” A Democrat strategist? A member of President Trump’s re-election team? A British spy? The Republican Party should pay him/her handsomely.
The smartest and wisest among us are asking themselves “why?” CNN is asking whether or not Pelosi handed Trump the keys to four more years. MSNBC was near mental collapse needing psychotropic drugs to continue on. Joe Scarborough looked as if the world had ended and he was the lone survivor.
Paul Krugman, the New York Times economics editor, a man who hates Trump with a passion unknown to normal human beings, admitted that the economy was great and getting better. African-American unemployment is at it lowest point since statistics on such matters started, and in some polls, Trump has zoomed to a 34 percent approval rating among this group.
Why did the Democrats fumble the ball in Iowa? Was it incompetence or was it an attempt to deny the socialist/communist Bernie Sanders from getting the nomination? Some speculate that Iowa has blown its chance to be the first state in the nation to select presidential candidates. Why did the Democrats mess up? So few people voted that any sixth grader could have tallied the count - and done it accurately. One must ask why a sixth grader was not employed?
Why did the Democrats set out on the impeachment trail when they knew, as did everyone capable of rational thought, that the President would not be convicted.
Why did Pelosi pick Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler to lead the impeachment inquiry? Neither of these two are photogenic. Neither have dynamic personalities. Neither are very smart. Neither have a track record of convincing other people that their beliefs are the correct beliefs. If you are a Democrat, you have probably been asking yourself WHY.
Why did the Democrats in Congress sit on their hands when the President introduced the 100-year old Tuskegee World War II fighter pilot? Of all the things said at the State of the Union, this was the most non-political part. The President was simply honoring someone who had given a large portion of his life to America, and the President felt that he should be honored. Why did Nancy Pelosi sit on her hands when this great American was promoted to General? I’m listening. Please tell me why.
Why are the Democrats so dead set against Americans finding jobs? Why do they scoff at 225,000 jobs being created in January.
Why do they frown and shake their heads when thousands of Americans are lifted off of food stamps? Why are the Democrats in favor of extending welfare and medical treatment to illegal aliens? Why do they not understand that the costs associated with this type of largess are paid by the American taxpayer? I don’t claim to be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I would love for some bright Democrat to educate me on these questions.
I’ll be waiting.
