Shortly after President Trump sent General Qassem Soleimani to the “infernal regions,” the Iranians shot down a Ukrainian passenger jet, killing all 176 people aboard.
The Iranians have come clean an admitted that this jet was taken down by mistake, and there are even some rumblings that those who fired the missile may be in trouble. I hope so. These were innocent people who were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
America had prohibited its jets from flying into Iranian airspace because the consequences were obvious – the Iranians were concerned that after they had fired 16 missiles into Iraq to kill American soldiers that President Trump would retaliate. Since no American was killed, there was no need to retaliate.
But shortly after Soleimani was taken down, the Democrat leaders in the House and Senate began to take the side of Seleimani claiming that he was a “revered” Iranian leader. They openly rebuked President Trump for not informing them in advance that Soleimani had been targeted.
The crocodile tears flowed from ever wild eyed progressive in the Senate and House. Instead of applauding an act that made the world a safer place, these politicians felt that it was their duty to criticize President Trump. They even wanted to restrict the President’s authority as the commander-in- chief of the armed services, a ploy that is doomed to failure.
Even if it should pass both houses, the Supreme Court would likely rule it unconstitutional because the Constitution specifically gives these powers to the president.
The progressives, liberals, Democrats, and never Trumpers are on the wrong side of history, and it is clear that they don’t even know it. They believe that they are doing what the majority of Americans want, and if you believe some of the polls, that assumption might be correct. But times have changed. People use cell phones now, and those with land lines are fewer and fewer.
Ask yourself this question: How often has a pollster called me on my cell phone for my political opinion? More than likely, unless you have published your cell phone number, very few people know how to reach you. Unless you call the pollster, which is unlikely, your political opinions will never be heard.
Not only are the Democrats in Congress complaining like small children, but we have that world renowned leader, Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, complaining that he was not given a “heads up” before Soleimani was sent to consort with his 72 virgins.
A heads up? How crazy does Trudeau think that President Trump is? Should he have been given a heads up, then Soleimani would be enjoying his earthly surroundings and killing Americans.
But the boy Prime Minister went further. He blames America for the Iranians shooting down the Ukrainian passenger jet that killed a reportedly 60 Canadians.
Let’s think about this for a moment. President Trump takes out a known terrorist that the mainstream media loves, the Iranians shoot down a Ukrainian passenger jet with 176 people aboard, an act that they have openly admitted, yet somehow, in the convoluted mind of Justin Trudeau it is all President Trump’s fault.
According to Trudeau, “This is something that happens when you have conflict and war. Innocents bear the brunt of it, and it is a reminder why all of us need to work so hard for de-escalation.” But there was more. Trudeau hinted that since America was the cause of this tragedy, compensations must be paid, presumably by the United States. Instead of thanking President Trump for a job well done, the boy prime minister is angling for dollars.
The notorious Peter Principal has kicked in, and Trudeau has risen to the level of his incompetence. The beard he has grown will not make him smarter. He is a real loser, and thankfully, President Trump knows it.
