For several years now, there has been a steady rise of anti-Semitism in the nations of Europe.
Even in Germany, the country responsible for sending over six million Jews to their deaths, the rise is unmistakable. Anti-Semitism has spread across Europe, and now it has been exported to America. It has even made its way to the halls of Congress, and this is very troubling.
One might expect the Democrats in Congress to oppose this development with every fiber of their body, but no, they simply proposed a “watered down” resolution that condemned hate in its generic form. There was no “Spartacus” moment here.
Last week, I happened to be watching an episode of World War II in Color. I always learn something new when I watch this program, and last week, the program dealt with the death camps that Hitler had established to exterminate thousands of Jews. The episode was difficult for me to watch. Not only were young Jewish men killed, but teenage girls and little children were executed for no good reason other than they were Jewish.
These innocent people were rounded up by the thousands and shot or gassed. I cannot even imagine how these Jewish people felt when they were led to the “slaughterhouses” to be wiped from the face of the earth.
Remember that Hitler had confiscated the people’s guns. But a small group of Jews were able to get hold of some guns, and for nearly a month, they held out against the Nazi Army. In the end, they were all killed, but I will bet they died with a degree of satisfaction etched on their faces. To any freedom loving individual, this small band of Jewish rebels died as heroes, fighting against a tyrannical government.
The lights are out in Venezuela. What these people have in common with the German Jews is that the government has outlawed guns. There is absolutely no way to stand up against a well-trained and vicious army that is enforcing the will of a dictator. Resist and die.
There are those in power in America who, given the opportunity, would confiscate every gun a citizen has. Unlike Venezuela, America has the Second Amendment, perhaps one of the most important amendments to the Constitution of the United States. This amendment was added to prevent the take over by a tyrannical government.
The founding fathers knew that given enough time, corrupt politicians would move against the citizens of this country and make them subjects of the State, requiring them to do what the rulers wanted. History had shown that this was the case, and the founding fathers wanted to ensure that American citizens had a fighting chance to remain free.
Look what is happening in Venezuela. As long as we have the Second Amendment, I do not believe that this country can be made into a dictatorship.
Freedom loving people will fight against an over-reaching government, and the elitists who want to do away with the Constitution and the Second Amendment know this. There is no reason for the people of Venezuela to be eating out of garbage cans or killing their pets for food. There is no reason why people are being denied life-saving medical care. Venezuela is a rich country, but the corrupt politicians have stolen the wealth and condemned its citizenry to poverty and despair. Before it reaches that level in America, I believe that freedom-loving Americans will revolt against a system that enslaves our people, thanks to the Second Amendment.
Bernie Sanders, the radical socialist, has failed to condemn Venezuela for its tyrannical actions. Many in the Democrat Party have failed to condemn socialism, the poison pill that has ruined a rich country like Venezuela. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants America to be like Venezuela. First, she wants to remove all guns from American hands so that her will, along with her fellow socialists, can be imposed on our free society. But unlike the Jews of Nazi Germany, we will not go quietly to the slaughter.
The founding fathers were looking a long way down the historical road when they crafted these important words that stand proudly in our Constitution: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary for the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
Keep your firearm handy and your powder dry. You may need them sooner than you think.
