William Earl Knight, 62, died Jan. 19, 2016.
Funeral services were Jan. 30 at Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church in Benton with Rev. Darryl D. Phillips Sr. officiating. Burial followed at Rose Hill M.B. Church Cemetery in Benton under the direction of Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Knight was born Nov. 13, 1953 to the late Jessie and Alice Green Knight. He grew up in Yazoo County, and attended Linwood before graduating from Benton High School in 1971. He later attended Prentiss Junior College.
He was a member of Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, where he enjoyed working in the church since he was a child. He enjoyed ushering and served as chief usher.
Survivors include his wife, Rosie L. Knight; sons, Leonardo Davis (Demetria), William “Scooter” Davis (Kenya), Gerrod Knight (Dawnay), Jessie Knight and William “Chris” Owen (Casandra); daughters, KaShundra Littleton (Jeremy), Lynette Knight, Melissa Knight and Jerrica Chambers (Ellis); sisters, Azzie Adams (Wiley), Linda Martin (Lucius), Bettye Blackmon (Willie), Billye McInnis (Bobby) and Roberta Winford (George); brother, Homer Knight (Donzelle); five sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; 18 grandchildren; uncle, Homer Green; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were DeManuel Carter, Arnold Littleton, Lucius Martin Jr., Jeffery Ollie, Pierra Rucker and Robert William.
Honorary pallbearers were Wiley Adams, Willie Blackmon Jr., Washington Cole IV, Henry Collins Sr., Daniel Haralson, Lucius Martin Sr., Bobby McInnis, Terry McInnis, T.C. Moore, Sylvester Moton and George Winford.
The Knight family wishes to thank their family members and all of their many friends for the love and support shown during this time of loss. Your kindness will never be forgotten. The family prays that God richly blesses you all, and thanks you from the bottom of their hearts.
