Travis W. Bland, 94, of Starkville and Yazoo City, passed away Nov. 14, 2016 at his new home in Port Angeles, Washington.
His wife of 70 years, Dorothy Jean Gainey Bland, and his daughter, Sheila Adams, were at his bedside.
Mr. Bland served in the US Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After the war, he worked for Mississippi Chemical Corporation for 30 years before retiring. He was a Mason, a Shriner, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanie Bland; daughter, Sheila Adams; grandsons, Theodore Fishman (Mary) and Lt. Commander Spencer Fishman (Lt. Commander Amy); his brother, Donal Merideth Bland; sister, Evelyn Bland Salyers (John); and his loving extended Bland family.
He will be buried at the Maben Cemetery beside his parents, Calvin and Thelma Bland, and his beloved brother, Thomas Bland.
