Thomas Cedell Helms, 90, formerly of Yazoo City, went to his heavenly home on August 8, 2016 in the evening at his home in Brandon.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. at Strickin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City on Thursday, August 11 and again from 9-10 a.m. Friday August 12 with service following at the chapel and burial at Caile Cemetery in Sunflower County.
T. C. lived in Yazoo City and was employed by Public Service Commission as Superintendent of the power plant until his retirement. He moved to Brandon in 2004 and resided there until his death. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Pearl.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dolly Ruth Mathis Helms; and granddaughter, Emily Mathis Helms.
He is survived by his wife Ellie Helms and children June Warren (Roger), Judy Murray, Thomas Helms (Clair), Ricky Helms (Nancy), Joyce Womack, and Timmy Helms. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and sisters Maxine Ables, Vernell Denham, Faye Tilghman, and brother Bobby Helms.
