James Stephen “Steve” Trammell Sr., 70, of Hattiesburg and formerly of Holly Bluff, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 13 at Parkview Church of God in Yazoo City.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.– 1 p.m. with funeral service following at 1. p.m. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mr. Trammell was born June 15, 1947 in Yazoo City to Rex and Marguerite Trammell. He retired as a school administrator after many years of teaching and coaching. After attending Holmes Community College on a basketball scholarship, he received his BS degree in education from Delta State University. He earned his Masters and Specialist degrees in School Administration from Mississippi College.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara White Trammell, father Rex Trammell and brother Jimmie Trammell.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Ellis Trussell Trammell of Hattiesburg, sons, Stephen Trammell (Chandra) of Brandon, Shane Trammell of Holly Bluff, Tony Trussell (Stancey) of Benoit, Chris Trussell (Jennifer) of Hattiesburg; daughters, Ginger Dees (Kenny) of Benoit and Stephanie Patterson (Josh) of Hattiesburg; grandchildren Kasey, Shelby and Zac Trammell; Laura Peyton Trammell, John Avery Fowler and John Ross Case; Haylee, Hunter and Henslee Trussell; Christopher and Caitlyn Trussell; Nathan and Nataleigh Dees; Pagel and Ellis Patterson.
Serving as pallbearers are Rob Trammell, Chris Trammell, JEB Trammell, Keith Martin, Jeff Martin, Kenny Dees and Josh Patterson.
