Shirley D. Netherland, 81, of Columbus and formerly of Yazoo City, died at Baptist Hospital Columbus on Thursday, December 15, 2016.
Funeral services were Monday at Hillcrest Baptist inYazoo City. with Rev. Jeff Dixon and Rev Jay Trammell officiating. Burial followed at Scotland Cemetery in Yazoo County.
Mrs. Netherland was a secretary for the Mississippi Department of Transportation, District 3 Office in Yazoo City, former co-owner of Gateway Broadcasting Co (WJNS – WYAZ radio stations) also in Yazoo City, and a member of Woodland Baptist Church in Columbus.
Survivors include her daughter, Dale N. Hall (James) of Columbus; grandson, Michael Nabors (Leigh Ann) of Caledonia; granddaughters, Aimee Yarbrough (Eric) of Columbus and Whitney Hurd (Joseph) of Pensacola, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Anna Nabors, Hunter Yarbrough, Ava Nabors, Calen Yarbrough, Hayden Joel Hurd and Conner Hurd; brother, Phillip Dixon (Louise)of Benton, MS,sister; Vivian Kramer of Brandon; sisters-in-law Rita Dixon of Yazoo City and Frances Dixon of Benton.
Serving as pallbearers were Michael Nabors, Larry Kramer, Hunter Kramer, Crowell Armstrong, Eric Yarbrough and Steve Dixon.
