Sarah McCall Martin, age 94, passed away on August 10, 2016 in Birmingham, Alabama.
Funeral services were Aug. 13 at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lewis Kalil officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Martin was born Feb. 1, 1922 in Greenville to Duncan and Felicia Smiley McCall. A longtime resident of Yazoo City, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lyman V. Martin; and a son, Joseph E. Martin.
She is survived by three sons, Dr. Richard V. Martin (Denise), Mr. James D. Martin (Carolyn), and Rev. William Thomas Martin (Cynthia) and by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
In Yazoo City, Sarah was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and had been an employee of Mississippi Chemical Corporation and the Yazoo City Public Schools. An award winning quilter, she was a past state regent of the UDC and a member of the DAR.
Serving as pallbearers are Brian Bullock, Kyle Martin, Kary Bruner, Tommy Eckenrode, Adam Johnson and Chris Martin.
Memorials may be made to the Missions Fund of First Baptist Church, Yazoo City or to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer organization.
